Project Details
Supporting services are rendered through case interviews, home visits, telephone contacts and collateral contacts with the IFSC/FCPSU workers of the ex-residents. Ex-residents were recruited and trained as peer leaders to provide support to other women survivors and have volunteered in community education and service programs. Mutual support groups and programs were organized for the ex-residents to share their experiences, feelings, and information on community resources.

Our hotline has been providing immediate emotional support and counselling to callers affected by domestic violence since 1986. Since October 2003, the hotline service has been modified to include follow-up services for phone-in victims who were not yet ready to take refuge in the shelter, but still in need of other supportive services. Accordingly, emotional support and psychosocial counselling were rendered to these non-residential service users.
